HISTORY: Adrien was born late in 1960, the youngest of the eight children of Evangelical Christian pastor John Spencer. In 1968, he and his wife Marie sold their home in Arizona, packed up their eight kids, and hit the road with a new kind of ministry: a musical one. Spencer had noticed the younger people in his congregation were most interested in the more creative side of church services, and combined with the ever-expanding popularity of rock music, he thought this was a powerful new way to bring new people to Christianity.

John handled the business side of things, while Marie homeschooled the six kids who were still school age (with help from their two eldest), all while travelling the country to spread their folk-flavoured gospel. Armed with acoustic guitars, tambourines, and stacks of photocopied pamphlets, they were unwavering in their mission - and it seemed they were successful, at least within conservative Christian circles. By 1972, they were regular fixtures at Evangelical conferences, TV programs, summer camps, and retreats, and even were in talks with the Christian Broadcasting Network to start their own sitcom.

By 1973, the image of the happy family was no more. Marie filed for divorce after years of tolerating Johnโ€™s infidelity and verbal abuse. She and the kids packed up once again, this time to settle in southern California with Marieโ€™s parents, and that chapter of their lives closed. Adrien soon fell in with his older brotherโ€™s friends, who introduced him to bands like Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. After saving up for months, he traded his acoustic guitar for an electric and never looked back.

He was in a number of bands in high school, but nothing really stuck until he founded the band Hellhounds in 1981 with friend and bassist Jay Blackwood. By 1984 they signed a record deal and released their debut album, Out for Blood, to moderate success. Back for Blood followed in late 1986, but by that time, tensions between Adrien and Jay were rising to untenable heights. Adrien was becoming increasingly reckless with both drug and alcohol abuse, all while struggling with his complicated sexual feelings for Jay - all of which he refused to seriously acknowledge.

Spending his nights partying on the Sunset Strip, he met Draxx, a record exec whose pockets ran deep for both business and pleasure. Adrien was happy to party on his dime, and Draxx had big plans for Adrienโ€™s music career. Though he played along with including the whole band in his offers, over the months it became more and more obvious that Draxx was only interested in Adrien, not Hellhounds.

Hellhounds would split abruptly in mid-1987 at the end of their biggest tour yet. Back in Los Angeles, Adrien would find himself spending more and more time with Draxx, whose praise seemed unending. Over the latter half of that year, Draxx molded him into his perfect muse, paying for formal music lessons, Adrienโ€™s living expenses, personal trainers and more. No expense was spared in what Adrien thought was preparation for his solo debut.

Then, on Christmas Eve, Adrienโ€™s 27th birthday, Draxx offered his greatest gift yet: eternal life. The ability to perfect his craft, to create music, forever. Adrien eagerly accepted, and was embraced on New Years Eve, just before the stroke of midnight.

Soon after, his sire would integrate him into vampire society, eager to flaunt his new muse, who had dropped his birth name in favor of becoming Ace Sterling. Unsurprisingly, Draxx was a member of the Toreador clan, known for counting some of the most artistic, beautiful and seductive Kindred among its numbers.

(Further history is a work in progress, and may vary!)

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

VISUAL: Long, curly dark blonde hair down past his chest, dark eyes, long lashes. Average height with a lean, wiry build. Lots of body hair and tattoos.
STYLE: Still very much an eighties metalhead. Skin-tight jeans, high top sneakers, band tees (occasionally cropped). Leather and denim jackets. Almost all vintage, but the stuff that isnโ€™t is far more expensive than it looks.
OLFACTORY: Rose incense - smoky and floral. Hairspray.
DEMEANOUR: Confident and flirtatious, but a bit of an airhead. Arrogant and vain. Theatrical.

IN CHARACTER

PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Itโ€™s his bread and butter, and a huge part of the way he hunts his prey. Seduction is his middle name.
PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Heโ€™d call himself a lover, not a fighter - but heโ€™s also a bloodthirsty vampire with the capability to tear mortals limb from limb. In short: yes.
RELATIONSHIPS: Anything serious is unlikely at best. To him, mortals are a means to an end, and he rarely finds himself impressed by them. Fellow vampires have a much better chance, but heโ€™s still not particularly looking to commit.
PSYCHIC & PSIONIC INFORMATION: Please ask first! Ace has some supernatural abilities when it comes to persuasion and seduction, but I wonโ€™t throw them out there without permission. Please donโ€™t be shy about expressing boundaries!
CONTENT WARNINGS: Internalized homophobia, physical violence, substance abuse
